Pianist Jef Neve (BE) and trumpet player Teus Nobel (NL) form monster alliance
Pianist Jef Neve (BE) and trumpet player Teus Nobel (NL) have both been an integral part of the international jazz landscape for years now. Aside from numerous projects under their own names, in recent years they have also travelled the world together a number of times. On stages and at festivals in places like The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Canada and Australia, audiences clearly enjoyed the playing pleasure of these two true musical masters.
The well-oiled interplay from this long series of concerts resulted in a long-awaited duo-album that was very intentionally recorded with a live audience. Expect a mix of their own compositions and jazz classics, with as title track: Esho Funi – a composition by Teus around the Japanese theme of oneness between yourself and your surroundings. And the gents have you hear that absolute connectedness like no other.
The album will be launched during an extensive tour at home and abroad, during which they relentlessly challenge each other musically. Add the entertaining anecdotes of these verbally strong gentlemen to the mix and you then have the recipe for a great night out.
