LUDOVICO EINAUDI FEAT. ROBERT LIPPOK (TO ROCOCO ROT) + STRING SEXTET
Composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi was already an established name outside his Italian homeland but since the start of this year the man is also admired here. Following 2 sold-out concerts in Brussels and Brugge and praise from various media, this contemporary minimalist once again returns to Belgium for an exclusive concert in the AB. Aside from his musical electronica partner Robert Lippok (known from the German experimental post-rock group To Rococo Rot) he will also be bringing a string sextet. This concert will embody the ultimate mix of classic, avant-garde and modern.
Ludovico Einaudi began his career with a number of compositions for orchestras and chamber orchestras that were soon performed at famous locations like Teatro alla Scala, The Queen Elisabeth Hall and The Center for Performing Arts in Los Angeles. From the 80's on he wandled new paths and permitted more emotion into his music. World and Pop music found their way into his writers existance and since then he's also found his way into the footlights personally. This self-proclaimed minimalist (he refers to Michael Nyman and Philip Glass) likes to work with the French rock musician Yann Tiersen just as much as the Malinese kora-player Ballake Sissoko. His latest CD is titled 'Divenire' and thanks to the similarities between acousitic and electronic it reminds one of Radiohead's experimental work.
