Loyle Carner launches third album 'hugo'. An absolute must-see.
Things are going fast for Loyle Carner. His Wednesday, Jan. 25, concert sold out in no time. Much to our delight, the English-Guanese rapper is now adding an additional Belgian date to his tour. He is also coming to the Ancienne Belgique stage on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023.
This summer, news broke that Loyle Carner’s long-awaited new album would be released on October 21. Since 2017, and the release of his stunning first LP "Yesterday’s Gone" (for which he was nominated for a Mercury Prize), Loyle Carner has established himself as an essential talent in the international hip-hop scene. A flow, a voice, socially engaged lyrics, an overwhelming personality and charisma. He performs on stages all over the world and has engaged in a string of high-profile collaborations (with the likes of Tom Misch and Jordan Rakei). He released "Not Waving, but Drowning" in 2019 and reached number 3 in the British charts. Loyle Carner is a widely respected combination of passion and raw talent. He proves this once again with 'Hate', 'Georgetown' (featuring John Agard) and 'Nobody Knows (Ladas Road)', three strong tracks that were released this summer as a preamble to 'hugo'. His new work, which sounds like both a war cry and introspection on his being of mixed descent and his status as an artist in combination with his position as son and father. A not to be missed concert on 25 January 2023 in AB!
