KYUSS LIVES! featuring original Kyuss members John Garcia, Nick Oliveri & Brant Bjork and on guitar Bruno Fevery
In the spring of 2010, the Garcia Plays Kyuss bill simply managed to fill the Vooruit in Ghent twice and later there was an extra allowance at the Pukkelpop festival. During that same summer tour, former Kyuss-singer John Garcia ran into two other ex-Kyuss companions at the Hellfest festival in France: bassist Nick Oliveri and drummer Brant Bjork. They so liked what they then presented on stage together that they're going to do a tour called Kyuss Lives! (with Josh Homme as the only missing link) that will stop off in the AB on Sunday 27 March 2011.
Kyuss is the influential American stoner-rock band that saw the light of day at the end of the 80's. In five years time the band made just as many albums, of which one under their original name Sons Of Kyuss and of which the last in line ‘… And The Circus Leaves Town’ achieved a legendary status here too. Also made a name for themselves with their ‘generator parties’, where they performed for a small audience in the middle of the Californian dessert. Following the split in October 1995 everyone went their own way and later became parts of the likes of Queens Of The Stone Age, Fu Manchu, Mondo Generator, Brant Bjork And The Bros, Eagles Of Death Metal and Hermano.
The 2 KYUSS shows each have a different support act.
In the evening, American quartet Waxy will play. These psychedelic rockers received assistance from Gary Arce (Yawning man), Ed Mundell (Monster Magnet) and John Garcia (Kyuss, Hermano) on their song ‘White Walls’.
