Oaktree (b)
Young Antwerpian Adriaan de Roover serves up moody and enthralling electronica that balances between dancefloor and living-room, all under the nom de plûme Oaktree. So his debut EP ‘Chapters’ also balances between minimalistic beats and contemporary classical. Live, Oaktree presents itself as a true band.

Killing Sound (uk)
“The Bristol trio of Killing Sound strip down dub until the ghosts remains.”
(The Wire)
Bristol has always had a thing with dub. Just think Massive Attack, Portishead, Tricky and Roni Size’s Reprazent. Recently, an other collective has come to the fore: Young Echo - who, according to The Wire, “... are causing the tectonic plates of Bristol’s bass culture to shift again.” Writing on the wall: they recently even adorned the cover of the progressive monthly mag.
One of the central groups within the collective is Killing Sound, which also contains Vessel (who recently caused a stir with the album ‘Order Of Noise’ on the esteemed Tri Angle label). Their just recently released self-titled EP got even more attention. Blackest Ever Black (see too: Raime, Vatican Shadow,...) became their homebase and they turned the legacy of King Tubby inside out. Fact Magazine described Killing Sound recently as ’oblique soundsystem murderers’ and rightly so!
