A fully-fledged concert experience for kids by Girls in Hawaii
Looking for something to do with your (grand/step/neighbour’s) child? Forget the amusement park or petting zoo; AB provides an alternative with a healthy dose of rock ‘n’ roll for the whole family: the brand new KETCLUB!
KETCLUB are fully-fledged concerts suitable for children. Here, the “maskes en ketjes” (Brussels for ‘girls and boys’) can enjoy a true concert experience on the same level as a regular show for adults. Bands play shorter sets and we turn the volume down a bit for the children’s sensitive ears. It’s a unique excursion with a warm atmosphere. Fun and hot chocolate guaranteed.
In December, Girls in Hawaii will play no fewer than 4 ◄◄ REWIND concerts revolving around their brilliant 2003 debut ‘From Here to There’. GiH was the first Walloon rock act to break ground in Flanders. The album sold 60,000 copies and was also released in France, Spain, Italy, Germany, the US and Japan. Just a few months after its release, GiH sold out AB’s Main Hall in a Walloon-Brussels triple bill with Ghinzu and Sharko. In 2004, they even made it onto the Rock Werchter bill, which was only 20% Belgian that year. True Belgian icons!
GiH’s last day of ◄◄ REWIND is the perfect occasion for the first edition of KETCLUB. On Sunday afternoon, the band will recreate the beautiful live set-up from their early days, including the now iconic TV videos made by Olivier Cornil (who designed the cover for ‘From Here to There’).
Accompanying adults can buy a ticket to KETCLUB and take up to 2 children with them for free. Unaccompanied minors aged 12-18 can also attend. They will need a paid ticket to access the show.
With the support of Focus Vif.
