The Maccabees are back
At the end of 2024, The Maccabees sprang a surprise by announcing their reformation for a one-off concert in London after an eight-year absence. The English indie-rock outfit have now announced the dates of their European tour, which will take them to Germany, the Netherlands, France and Belgium.
The Maccabees - consisting of vocalist Orlando Weeks, guitarists (and brothers) Felix and Hugo White, bassist Rupert Jarvis and drummer Sam Doyle - began their career in 2005 and continued to evolve over four studio albums that received rave reviews. From their beloved debut album “Colour It In” to their biggest commercial success “Marks To Prove It. They were nominated for the Mercury Prize with their third album “Given To The Wild,” won the prestigious Ivor Novello Award for best contemporary song with “Pelican,” and snagged the award for best British band at the 2016 NME Awards. NME aptly summed up their last concert in 2017: “The end of The Maccabees may feel like a sudden heist now, but as tonight's flawless and breathtaking performance shows, the 14 years we had them in will never be forgotten.” In 2025, The Maccabees return to the stage, eager to play together again and reconnect with their fans. Any plans for the future? For now, they are keeping their options open and letting these new concerts surprise them. Their performance at the AB on June 25 is a unique opportunity to see The Maccabees live and enjoy their iconic songs.
