Hip hop talent from the TDE crew of Kendrick Lamar & co
We’ve already heard the tale of Johnny Reed McKinzie Jr. - or Jay Rock – many times before. At one point, the artist from LA swapped his life on the streets and in criminal circles for a career in rap. That was definitely the right move, as – after a number of underground successes – he managed to attract the attention of none less than Anthony Tiffith, founder of the independent label Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) that also houses other greats like Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, SZA and Isaiah Rashad. Jay Rock also forms a part of the collective ‘Black Hippy’ – together with Kendrick, Schoolboy and Ab-Soul – that has released various classic tracks. Live, he is sure to present an energetic show and a mix of old-school & new-school hip-hop.
