Following victory at De Beloften, Ghent's annual pop and rock contest, Intergalactic Lovers then had a convincing win at East Flanders' Rock Contest. The first single ‘Fade Away’ was received enthusiastically and placed on playlists at the likes of Radio 1 and Studio Brussel. Their mix of melodious (sometimes intimate and others more adventurous) pop music and the unique voice of singer Lara Chedraoui last summer brought them to festivals like Boomtown. The Intergalactic Lovers debut album is expected to be out in early 2011. Lara Chedraoui, Brendan Corbey, Maarten Huygens and Raf De Mey are Intergalactic Lovers, an impure composition of desirous lust-for-life and obscure fairy-tales. An alliance of pathfinders from the suburbs at the service of the world's broken and rejected souls. For comfort and warmth in the darkest rooms of your universe. At the bosom, in the heart, before the fire or very far from it.

We'll be opening with El National Quarterback from Luik. Prime indie-rock inspired by the best of Death Cab For Cutie, Modest Mouse, Pinback or The Shins. After a number of supports for the likes of John Vanderslice and Passion Pit, early this year their debut E.P. ‘Monarchs’ was released. The previously mentioned Vanderslice provided the mix for it (something he also already did for the likes of Spoon and The Mountain Goats).

Coca-Cola Sessions? Our refreshing structural partner, whose name is hidden in the title, has been providing 9 extra Club concerts to support debuting Belgian talent since the '09-'10 concert season. All for a beautiful and youthful audience. What's more, in the first press release we wrote: ‘Do you already want to discover the performer who'll be closing Herman Schueremans garden party in a few years’? That sentence really did turn out to be visionary, as both Balthazar and Customs already appeared at Rock Werchter last summer.

We've already presented another new series of much talked about Coca-Cola Sessions this season, with sold out concerts by Arquettes, The Tellers, Addicted Kru Sound feat. Selah Sue and Netsky. As of this season, each session will be supplemented by reports, to be viewed on ABtv and Moodio.tv. In the first part of 2011 it'll be the turn of the likes of The Galacticos, Steak Number Eight and Intergalactic Lovers.
