ƚBM [INSPIRED BY BLACK METAL]

ƚBM focuses on the influence of black metal anno 2014 and is a response to the current prevalence of the genre. Not coincidentally 30 years after the establishment of legendary Norwegian black metal band Mayhem. Nor coincidentally 20 years after the release of their debut ‘De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas’ - one of the most influential black metal albums ever.

BRANDON STOSUY: A Blaze In The North American Sky

As a writer (a new book with Matthew Barney has just been released), columnist (Pitchfork, The Believer,..) and metal lover, Brandon Stosuy is certainly no unknown to music and metal fans around the world.
As a part of the IBM series taking place in AB in early 2014, we have asked Brandon to present an updated version of A Blaze In The North American Sky (2008) in the form of a reading. In this essay, he gives us a glimpse into what is referred to as the third wave of black metal (US black metal).
There will be a Q&A session following Brandon's account. In it, Brandon will share the company of Terence Hannum from Locrian (who performs in the AB Club that evening).
