one of the most popular postpunk/hardcore rock bands of the moment.
England's High Vis is just about one of the most popular postpunk/hardcore rock bands of the moment. On Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023, they are coming with their wild, energetic live reputation.
London-based High Vis has its roots in other UK hardcore bands, but with their debut 'No Sense No Feeling' (2019), they delivered a record that went far wider than any other genre or music scene. The intensity and passion of hardcore sparked the fire, but it was the intense post-punk-inspired textures, moods and lyrics about working class life that gave their sound a certain sonic adventurousness that immediately put High Vis on the map.
On the second record "Blending," released in 2022 on the DAIS label, High Vis continues on that momentum. A record full of anthems straight from the hardcore and postpunk heart of frontman Graham Sayle, bassist Rob Moss, drummer Edward "Ski" Harper and guitarists Martin MacNamara and Rob Hammeren. Sometimes lurching toward the post-punk of Joy Division and Gang of Four, then again with a flare of early 90's infectiousness of Stone Roses and Charlatans.
After a sold-out club show at Cactus Music Center last February and a visit to Pukkelpop in the offing this summer, High Vis will be back in a venue this fall.
