There’s a true artist running around in Knokke! Brihang is his performing name. He partakes in poetry and sculpture, but mainly ‘rapping’ here – doing so in his very own West-Flemish (that is known to border on English) – and extra pleasantly theatrical on a stage or bandstand. He already won De Nieuwe Lichting by Studio Brussel with his ‘art is accidentally on purpose, it’s the art of patience, the glass filled to the edge, the coffee ring on the newspaper, the voice that screams from your throat.’

Wannes Cappelle & Co, and skoowne da ta kliengt, da toaltchje, that music, those CDs, these concerts… like just this spring in a full, explosively enthusiastic AB Concert Hall as a part of the ‘Niets doen is geen optie’ tour. We mainly became familiar with this inspired oeuvre through single ‘Ploegsteert’ but, after that start, CD ‘Akkatemets’ was finally deemed totally mature and all the (young)adults are now happy again, with successor ‘Nie voe kinders.’ But bring them along anyway!
