Grammy winning singing sensation, jive & jazz maestro!
Gregory Porter has finished off his new, (so to hear) quite funky, album – on the illustrious Blue Note Records, of course. This will already be his fourth AB since 2014. And he’s always welcome, because: the most inventive, soulful, stimulating, playfully detailed, charming, vibrant, challenging... Jazz, or so much more even (within a vigorous jazz vibe).
Gregory Porter is that American singer (with a well-packaged head) who disregards genres and ‘pushing’. Even so, what he plays up with his fine musicians is a unique live experience. They know that at Gent Jazz, where one encore is apparently no longer sufficient.
