Goat Girl throws all principles overboard with its vibrant guitar music and has made room for a new wave of cheerful but critical indie-rock. The four from London are named after Bill Hicks dubious sketch ‘Goat Boy’. ‘It’s disgusting, but I like his social commentary and the satirical element to what he did’, declares frontwoman Clottie Creal. That social commentary is also interwoven with the furious sound of the band, which conveys what it feels like to be a teenager these days. They pierce through the so-called millennial culture and refer in their songs to the manner in which media and government mess with the minds and future plans of their generation, the twenty-somthings. The band has already toured with the likes of Parquet Courts and The Fall. Later this year their debut album will be out via Rough Trade.

Piquet first grabbed attention three years ago with the EP ‘Heywawisze’, provided the band with a series of well-received concerts. They finished their long-awaited debut album under the attentive eye of Pascal Deweze. Result ‘De Meute’ swear by contrary rock, funk, eastern psychedelica and astute pseudo-Dutch lyrics.
