This warm voice breaks through with soul drenched songs
Fink, that's still Bristol born Brit Fin Greenall. Despite the fact he's been at it for a while now (most recent album ‘Perfect Darkness’ is his fourth solo album already), it's only now that he finally seems to have had his well-earned breakthrough with the general public. Because, admit it, until now you either got a frown at the mention of his name or otherwise performers like John Legend were sounding his praises. Indeed, he has already worked together with Legend and also Professor Green or Amy Winehouse as songwriter. That he now breaks through is due to the brilliant songs he writes.
AB has been supporting the man right from the very start. He appeared at a Ninja Tune night more than 10 years ago (indeed, this singer-songwriter signed to the progressive electronica label), later he supported Arsenal and later still he shared a stage with Justin Nozuka. Early this year he dropped into AB again for a very fine acoustic ABsession of ‘Perfect Darkness’ and ‘Trouble’. Bearing a new album, we welcome Fink in AB once more.
‘Fink: monotoon, rauw en indringend’. 4/5 (De Standaard)
‘Voilà l’album que David Sylvian aurait dû faire’. (le Soir)
‘Fink déploie une envie féroce de vraie musique sans artifices superflus’. (Rif Raf)
‘An updated version of Nick Drake’. (Agenda)
We'll be opening with Irish singer-songwriter Emmett Tinley. Damien Rice meets Jeff Buckley meets Arid. That is, in brief, what you can expect during one of the man's concerts. Humble, fragile songs, wonderful lyrics, keen vocals, subtle arrangements and frightfully fantastic melodies.
‘Every one of the songs is a melodic and authentic gem, with a grandiose sound thanks to Tinley’s brilliant voice’. (OOR)
‘The most unlucky person in pop music delivers a compellingly beautiful album’. (De Morgen)
