20u30 - LISETTE MA NEZA & NEIL AKENZUA (nl/b)
AB, Motel Mozaïque and House of Flemish Culture de Brakke Grond have been working together for several years now under the banner of GrensGeluid, with the ambition of challenging a Flemish and Dutch musician to enter into a creative process. Jef Neve & Typhoon and Wannes Capelle & Broeder Dieleman started it off. Spoken word artist and singer Lisette Ma Neza now takes over the creative torch together with pianist Neil Akenzua.
Lisette Ma Neza is known for her sharp pen, soft voice and poetic performances. In 2017, she won the Belgian Poetry Slam Championship. In her writing, music and film-making, Lisette Ma Neza seeks her own language, in order to translate all the feeling into words, images, and melodies. Neil Akenzua is a pianist who makes music with his heart. One with the keys of his piano, he speaks in sounds. The combination creates fireworks.

21u30 - STEF KAMIL CARLENS (b)
For years we have dreamed of welcoming Stef Kamil Carlens to the Feeërieën, and see: it’s happening! His latest album 'Making Sense Of ∞’ (read: ‘Making Sense Of Infinity’) already dates from 2019, but SKC has never really sat still. The single ‘More Sex Baby’ was released recently, a steamy and sensual 10 minute (!) long ode to Lio. He recently and inimitably honoured Bob Dylan for a full hour, on the occasion of his 80th birthday, with ‘The Gates Of Eden’. Carlens also wrote the music for Jan Fabre’s latest performance – ‘Resurrexit Cassandra’.
Live, Stef Kamil Carlens is still the equivalent of pure musical pleasure. Or, as Focus Knack described it in response to his latest visit to AB: "A concert that can only be described as a triumph". We’re crossing our fingers that he will perform Bart Kaëlls spine-chilling version of ‘La Mamadora’. Agreed, Stef?
