Warpaint is the latest addition to the already impressive Rough Trade catalogue. This female quartet from Los Angeles combines eccentric guitar tunes, hypnotic voices and pumping post-punk rhythms. They balance on the border between psychedelica and intimacy.
Their debut EP ‘Exquisite Corpse’ was mixed by the exceptional John Frusciante - of Red Hot Chili Peppers fame - and immediately meant a modest breakthrough in The States. The Independent wrote: ‘dreamy vocals with off-kilter hazy guitars’. Live, they've opened for Yeasayer and School of Seven Bells and at the end of this year they'll be heading out on the road with The XX.
Their Rough Trade debut will be released in August and on 30 October Warpaint they'll be visiting the ABClub.
