Together with All Eyes On Hip Hip
A Liveurope concert:
The first pan-European initiative supporting concert venues in their efforts to promote emerging European music.
It may well have been around for 40 years now, but since the success of Kendrick Lamar’s ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ it would seem that everyone is back on the hip-hop again. Increasingly more people seem to enjoy the genre and impressive hip-hop acts are shooting out of the ground like mushrooms. All Eyes On Hip Hip has already been actively working to introduce hip-hop to a wider audience for 12 years now. The clichés make room for quality hip-hop acts that are verging on a breakthrough. AB and AEOHH get together and dish you up the hottest hip-hop acts every month.
Shabazz Palaces
WHAT?
The complete quirkiness with which Ishmael Butles (ex-Digable Planets) and his sidekick Tendai Maraire make music has already resulted in two memorable albums. In 2011 Shabazz Palaces blew everyone’s socks off with the mighty debut album 'Black Up'. The duo combined their differing influences and experimented with genres, resulting in the emergence of a unique sound. Then there was ‘Lese Majesty’, which left an equally big impression. This year, they decided to add two concept albums to that list. They discarded the rule book entirely on 'Quazarz: Born On A Gangster Star’ & ‘Quazarz Vs. The Jealous Machines'.
