Back from never been gone ‘Death Of A Bachelor’!
Fall Out Boy, Paramore, My Chemical Romance… Panic! At The Disco fits right into that row of greats from the emo age! The band encompassing central figure Brendon Urie, the only original member from the early days, broke through from out of nowhere in 2005 with single ‘I Write Sins, Not Tragedies’ from debut ‘A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out’.
Their theatrical baroque pop with a serious injection of emo-rock gave off sparks from the start and assured them of star status among the worldwide legions of skinny-jean clad emo fans. Once the emo-storm died down, Panic! At The Disco was one of the few to successfully negotiate the switch to more contemporary genres like synth/electro-pop and plain old alternative rock.
Their latest, ‘Death Of A Bachelor’ (out via Fueled By Ramen since Jan ’16), certainly flew out of the starting blocks as far as success is concerned – it’s the first P!ATD album to reach the very top of the US charts – and their bombastic sound, complemented by Urie’s characteristic crooner-factor, remains intact. Panic! At The Disco is totally back from never been gone!
