Conversation with Ninja Tune's founding fathers
WHAT?
Coldcut is DJ/AV/electronica innovators duo Matt Black & Jonathan More. In ’87 they were responsible for the UK’s very first breaks track that consisted entirely of samples: ‘Say Kids What Time is it?’. With the establishment of Ninja Tune, they launched one of the most innovative dance labels ever and their ‘Paid In Full’ remix of Eric B & Rakim is an über classic. Time for a conversation with the gents!

Kurt Overbergh: ‘Coldcut’s Ninja Tune-avonden in AB waren legendarisch. Keer op keer verbaasde Coldcut ons: hun AV-shows waren baanbrekend en de keure aan gasten die ze meebrachten – Roots Manuva, Amon Tobin, The Cinematic Orchestra,… - werden allen sterren an sich. ’
