School is Cool surprised with the release of a live Best Of to mark their ten year existence. Now thereâs the first single 'Close', from the upcoming studio album.
In the month that School is Cool marked ten years, they put out a new track: 'Close'. Itâs about the struggle to be content with what you have, even if it is never really what you had in mind. Itâs a first in School is Cool-land too, because it is their very first real duet: keyboard-player Hanne Torfs sings the lead vocal just as strongly as frontman Johannes Genard.
After 'Good News', from 2017, School is Cool returns with their appropriately titled fourth studio album: 'Things That Don't Go Right' (release 08/03/2020).
Most things just do go wrong. But the creative process of this album largely went smoothly. Both first single 'Close' and the rest of this adventurous album are inspired by nostalgic classic rock, with many two-part guitar lines, big synth riffs and loud refrains.
