After three decades full of fierce, alternative guitar-rock, the three tremendous dinos – J Mascis, Lou Barlow and Murph – got their teeth into ‘Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not’. Their upcoming eleventh issue and successor to the excellent ‘I Bet On Sky’ (from ’12) now glistens on the shelves of Jagjaguwar (which has taken on still more tasty leftfield acts, such as Bon Iver and Unknown Mortal Orchestra).
The press release promises eleven distortion-bathed songs (nine by Mascis, two by Barlow) filled with “bleeding-ear psychedelic guitar touches oozing their way into smudge-pop, proggy melodicism, post-core thug-hunch, & drums pounding like Fred Flinstone’s feet”.
