La increible Calexico & Co. connexión!
Depedro is an extremely fantastic and praiseworthy project. The band name of a sharp live-trio. Originally mainly in Spanish, meanwhile enough English too. But particularly, also an international project encompassing Jairo Zavala (with a Peruvian father and a mother who grew up in Guinea.)
You may already know Jairo Zavala from La Vacazul or Amparanoia or even Calexico? This summer certainly also present with the latter at Couleur Café and Cactus!
Now, finally, there is also Depedro's third sensational CD: 'La Increible Historia De Un Hombre Bueno', 'en el que colaboran músicos de tres continentes distintos: Tony Allen (Fela Kuti), Joey Burns y John Convertino (Calexico), Nick Urata (Devotchka) y Bernard Fannning (Powderfinger.)' Already out in Spain via Warner. The CD is partly recorded in those rather special Wavelab Studios in Tucson Arizona, of course.
Let this be clear too: 'Depedro es un proyecto musical que se nutre de la interculturalidad, una visión nómada de la vida y colaboración entre profesionales de la música.' Anyway, the result is lively, colourful Latin pop.
For those who also enjoy the escapades of Phil Manzanera or Axel Krygier!?
Depedro brings along Pez Mago as support-act and Pez Mago is then the solo-project of Lucas Alvarez De Toledo. Whether he really comes from Toledo or not, he is certainly already one of the impressive musicians of the Depedro trio! Hà, oho & olà!
