Their most unfiltered, most spontaneous, most "punk" album to date....
Dans Dans is back! And in no small way!
In these difficult times, when intimacy and proximity are risky, Dans Dans creates the soundtrack of connection, communication, passion and togetherness.
Dans Dans is the unique musical union of Bert Dockx (Flying Horseman, Ottla), Frederic Jacques (Lyenn and bass player with Mark Lanegan) and Steven Cassiers (Dez Mona, DAAU).
Since its debut in 2012, this trio has amazed with music that is impossible to place in a particular pigeonhole. Instrumental, atmospheric, compelling, refined and wild. Already responsible for four albums (‘Dans Dans’, ‘I/II’, ‘3’ and ‘Sand’) and two live recordings (one 10” and a cassette), plus memorable concerts at the likes of North Sea Jazz, Cactus festival, Ghent Jazz, Pukkelpop, Jazz Middelheim etc, Dans Dans tirelessly continues to create its very own unique musical universe with this fifth studio album.
They prove yet again, seemingly effortlessly, why they are one of the most intriguing bands from Belgium or further afield.
In the press
‘****’(Focus Knack)
"Geen enkele band op aarde klinkt zoals deze heilige Drievuldigheid.’
(Oor)
‘****’ Zes capricieuze composities die de punkspirit hoog houden in kunstige jazz.’
(De Morgen)
‘Op hun zesde plaat gaat het Belgische jazz-maar-niet-echt-jazz-collectief Dans Dans back to the basics. ‘6’ is … een plaat vol onbegrensde improvisatie, doorgedraaide gitaareffecten en zanderige psychedelica. Dans Dans maakt wel degelijk mini-soundtracks voor visioenen aangewakkerd door de verkeerde (of juist de goede) woestijncactus.’
