Under the title “Pointing the way to new music” AB and the eleven music clubs of the Club Circuit get together in the coming concert season for an exciting series. Together they’ve selected 10 weekends when on each occasion another club will occupy the AB, while at the very same time the AB goes on location to that visiting club. With this project AB and the Club circuit want to place some extra emphasis on their good relations.
Following the unfortunate cancellation of GANG GANG DANCE in mid-February, De Kreun and AB still had something to make up for. That's all sorted out with the live album launch of the new one from CREATURE WITH THE ATOM BRAIN.
‘Transylvania’ is the title of the second Creature with The Atom Brain album. This band based on Aldo Struyf was initially a home recording project that stood-by between Aldo’s live work with Millionaire and the Mark Lanegan Band. But, since the debut ‘I Am The Golden Gate Bridge’ in 2007, CWTAB has become a fully-fledged band, on and off stage. None less than Chris Goss was sought out to mix the new album; the man behind Masters Of Reality and producer of superb albums from Kuyss and Queens Of The Stone Age. You can also hear a musical contribution from Chris Goss on the album, just as from buddy Mark Lanegan, at the same time this album is again considerably influenced by 70’s prog and psychedelica, think Hawkwind and 13th Floor Elevators. After supporting the likes of The Jesus & Mary Chain in the US and UK, and also The Gutter Twins in the AB, Creature With The Atom Brain now returns to introduce their new album live to the general public.
Support act will be Antwerp's Birds That Change Colour. A strange cross-fertilisation of folk, psychedelica and pop with echo's of The Beatles and The Kinks while working with mind-expanding substances. Koen Kohlbacher, the man that it's all about, also lent his voice to a song on the new Creature With The Atom Brain album ‘Transylvania’.
