Double-bill bursting with extremely danceable indie-electro-pop!
Felix Pallas
When members of Bazart spread their wings elsewhere, the result invariably bears the same seal of quality. In the wake of the fantastic revelation of Warhola (after a sold-out AB Club and AB Box, now an AB Main Hall on 20/05), it is Felix Pallas that now rightfully aims for the top. The indie-electro-pop band encompassing singer-guitarist Simon Nuytten grabbed foreign attention with singles ‘RAKATA’ and ‘Curse’ that Zane Lowe (Beats 1 – Apple Music) launched worldwide during his radio show, followed by the likes of BBC Radio 1, Pigeons&Planes and Studio Brussel. New single ‘Similarities’ surfs further on the wonderful electro-pop vibe, a full EP is to follow later in the year. Don’t forget your dancing feet!
Rhinos Are People Too
After the win in De Nieuwe Lichting 2013, in contrast to fellow winners Tout Va Bien and Soldier’s Heart, all fell quiet(er) around Rhinos Are People Too. Three years later the reason would appear to have been an entirely new (and fantastic) sound, that feels very freshly and catchy. The old shoegaze has now been tossed out, the six now stand for “60’s and 70’s soundtracks that are covered by a nineties noise-pop band”. Their debut album ‘Hello From The Gutters’ contains ten fantastic and experimental noise-indie-pop songs and will be released via Zeal Records (Raketkanon, Marble Sounds, Isbells, etc.). First single ‘L.A. Confidential’ is certainly full of the fuzzy guitar lines, knock-out synths and extremely danceable drums. We remind you again: don’t forget your dancing feet.
