This classic, by one of the most important bands in the history of British rock, is 30 years old.
The Smiths 2nd album will always be a little overshadowed by their absolute masterpiece that was released a year later: The Queen Is Dead.
But, for fans, Meat Is Murder is and remains an absolute favourite.
Without The Smiths, there would have been no new generation of ‘Britpop’ emerging a few years later, no Oasis, Blur, The Verve, Suede,…. The influence of the album upon later generations is impossible to ascertain with certainty.

So it's high time to devote a Classic Album Listening Session to it and listen to this impressive album together in peace.
