‘All night XL edition of AB’s electronica concept with Modeselektor (live), 박혜진 park hye jin, Le Motel and more’
Braindance, is the Holy Trinity of progressive DJs, bedroom producers and innovative live-electro acts. Think: the exuberant vibe of the famous Boiler Room Sessions, as well as established names in the scene who will make the AB their playground. Braindance is the ideal first stop for a night out on the town in Brussels and for mind-blowing musical discoveries. Braindance is all about artists who do more than just get your dancing feet moving, they give your white matter a kick too!
On Saturday 21 December Braindance will step outside the familiar surroundings of AB Club and take over the AB Complex for an XL edition. We’re going all out, all night long, with heavy hitters in the Main Hall and exploring unchartered electronica territory in AB Club – as occasional nightclub that will take you to higher states.
Modeselektor (live)
The 2 Germans from Modeselektor have been helping form the electronic music scene with their genre-fusing productions since the early 2000s. We know Modeselektor from surprising collaborations with the likes of Thom Yorke, FLOHIO and Tommy Cash, but also as 2/3rd of Moderat, with which they sold out AB in 2014. Since the release of their latest album ‘Who Else’ they have appeared in a (in no time) sold-out Botanique and have detonated the dancehall at Pukkelpop. As if that wasn’t enough, they’re also heading down to AB as headliner of Braindance.

박혜진 park hye jin
If you think that Korea only produces K-pop then you clearly haven’t yet heard of 박혜진 park hye jin. This 25-year-old South-Korean producer follows the path paved by artists like Peggy Gou and Yaeji, with which they put Korean electronica (sometimes also called K-house) on the map. During her DJ sets she uses English and Korean lyrics – creating a very unique, vertiginous vibe.

Le Motel (extended dj set w/ visuals by Antoine De Schuyter)
We don’t need to introduce you to Brussels’ Le Motel. The producer is good friends with Roméo Elvis and top Italian producer Clap! Clap!, but we can just as easily find him in any other corner of the world making field recordings. For Braindance, he will perform an exclusive extended DJ set (with complementary AV show by Antoine De Schuyter) in which he combines his love of ethnic music with elements of footwork, hip-hop, jazz and techno.
