Bombino

Bombino is back. With a new CD that he recorded with Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. Those who have followed both sharp guitarists a little will certainly have something to look forward to.

Bombino strikes again! This Touareg from Agadez in Niger plays the most intense guitar music. For those who also get a kick out of Ali Farka Touré, Tinariwen and other driving desert blues-rock, of course, or masters like Santana and Jimi Hendrix.

Bombino, alias Omara Moctor was born around 1980 and has now completed his third CD. Particularly his second CD 'Agadez' has become a must hear (on the Cumbancha label.) With, at the same time, the film of the same name by Ron Wyman, from which we see brilliant local live-images below.

This is the pulsing sound of the survivors of the Sahara and Sahel. Bombino combines that with a big charisma, a genuine stage presence and a climax at every other moment.

The bluesy & inventive support-act will be Tiny Legs Tim. Not just any old Tiny Tim, no ukulele either, rather an unadulterated raspy guitar. Already approved by AB at a Stoemp and a Broodje Brussel concert. With two CDs to his name: 'One Man Blues' and 'TLT'. With unconditional praise from blues adventurer Roland.
