ƚBM focuses on Belgian, Dutch and French black metal.
ƚBM [INSPIRED BY BLACK METAL]
ƚBM focuses on the influence of black metal anno 2014 and is a response to the current prevalence of the genre. Not coincidentally 30 years after the establishment of legendary Norwegian black metal band Mayhem. Nor coincidentally 20 years after the release of their debut ‘De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas’ - one of the most influential black metal albums ever.

Alkerdeel & Gnaw Their Tongues (b-nl)
“’Morinde’ van Alkerdeel is subliem in zijn rauwheid!” (Gonzo Circus)
“Gnaw Their Tongues is genuinely disturbing!“ (Decibel Magazine)
‘Filthyblacksludgenoisedronedoom’ is only a modest description of the infernal noise that manifests itself when Alkerdeel, Flanders' most foul, gets together with Dutch noise phenomenon Gnaw Their Tongues (see too: his monikers Aderlating or Seirom). Together they present the likes of ‘Dyodyo Asema’, an apocalyptic opus written to honour the 5-year existence of their label Consouling Sounds (Syndrome, The Black Heart Rebellion, and the like). This is also the first but also the only time that Gnaw Their Tongues is to be seen live!

Nihill (nl)
Nihill, from The Netherlands, is out-of-this-world. Pitch-black, demonic, hypnotic and entirely ignoring any black metal conventions whatsoever. So their third album, the brusque ‘Verdonkermaan’, was released on the sludge-label Hydra Head (the likes of: Isis, Pelican but also Xasthur) and they're not shy of experimentation. The band only performs sporadically – like at the latest edition of Roadburn. Visions Magazine on that: "This year's award for grimness and devastation goes to Nihill, who unsettle with their dissonant and uncompromising brand of black metal."

Aluk Todolo (fr)
“A doomy monolith of cascading tones and unison chords.” (Pitchfork)
“It's the rare sort of record that somehow appeals to metalheads and post rockers as much as experimentalists and avant gardists!” (Aquarius Records)
Aluk Todolo is an instrumental kraut-trio from Paris that describes their work as Occult Rock - also the title of their latest album. The band drags you along on an infernal trip, where the psychedelic kraut of Ash Ra Temple sublimates with transcendental black metal primitivism à la Ildjarn. In '09, Aluk Todolo toured the US, where they opened for kraut-pioneer Faust. In ‘11 they were invited by SUNN 0))) to the Roadburn festival he curated. Aside from a handful of split albums, EPs and tapes, the band has now released 3 full length albums and also a collaboration with Austria's cult act Der Blutharsh.
