Duo that smells like The Black Keys and The White Stripes
Explosive duo from Mississippi with a wonderful, almost tongue twisting band name: Bass Drum of Death. Their sound is untamed and brilliant. Just like their debut ‘GB City’ which was released on the famous Fat Possum label – homebase to the likes of the famous Black Keys. Just like the latter, The White Stripes are a point of reference but whereas their kindred spirits are inspired by the blues, these guys from Bass Drum Of Death are more into punk rock. Also noteworthy: their collaboration (check out the cloud!) with members of Odd Future, which underscores their versatility. They say that their songs are about “drugs, trying to make it with religious girls, panic attacks, stealing stuff, mild to severe depression, Elvis appearing in your dreams and giving you advice, gravity bongs and the devil living inside your brain.” Basically: songs about everyday life. Don't you think?
Support-act for the Bass Drum of Death concert will be the explosive Kabul Golf Club. They just recently released the EP ‘Le Bal Du Rat Mort’, full of uncompromising, perverse and noise-drenched rock. By the way, we recognize singer/guitarist Florent Pevee from The Rott Childs. Basically: a delicious uppercut as opener.
