Canadian jazz-quartet enchants with electronica & hip-hop at IV
Futuristic Canadian jazz-group that initially earned its stripes with a colourful collection of experimental covers by the likes of FlyLo, J Dilla, Kanye West, James Blake and Odd Future. After second their longplayer, they started creating their own compositions and song ‘III’ (2014) – on which they throw together electronica, instrumental hip-hop and jazz in their very own style – is entirely their own work.
Both Frank Ocean and Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface Killah then tugged on their sleeve for instrumental accompaniment and BBNG will even dive into the studio with the latter for their ‘Sour Soul’ album. Dedicated, they pumped the rest of their time and energy into ‘IV’ (8/07) – ready and waiting on the shelves of Innovative Leisure (Rhye, Allah-Las, Holy Fuck) – that contains exciting collabs with the likes of Colin Stetson, Kaytranada, Sam ‘Future Islands‘ Herring and Mick Jenkins. The first album with brand new official member Leland Whitty on sax. This summer at Rock Werchter (Sat. 02/07), late in the year at Anspachlaan 110!
