Unique three hour show by this unique trio.
Too Many Puppies’! ‘Jerry Was A Race Car Driver’! ‘Wynona's Big Brown Beaver’! ‘Mr. Knowitall’! ‘Tommy The Cat’! All hits by American trio Primus that has been making furore in Europe since ’90 when they released their (studio) debut and instant classic ‘Frizzle Fry’. That slappy bass by frontman Les Claypool and the completely absurd lyrics immediately distinguished them in the period that Grunge had its heyday. Primus also wrote the theme song for South Park in ’97 (and you really should have a good listen to those lyrics – read: backing vocals). After a total of 7 albums, Primus inserted a period of inactivity around ’00. In ’03 the band became active again and last year Primus announced that they wanted to conquer the world again, with the original line-up.
Primus already appeared in AB in that form earlier this year, a show that was sold out in a matter of minutes. Meanwhile, Primus has also released a new album: ‘Green Naugahyde’ that sounds just as fresh as in the early days. In April 2012 Primus returns to Europe again under the title ‘An Evening With… Primus’ in a – wait for it – three hour long show. They'll be doing two dates at London's prestigious Royal Albert Hall. But they'll drop by AB just prior. That's what you call an honour.
