Fascinating cult-singer launches third album
Australian indie-pop weirdo Alex Cameron is dramatic, cynical and grand. He appears a bit strange, with his greasy blond hair, dodgy sunglasses and dance moves that exhibit an overdose of self-confidence.
Oh his previous two albums, he presented himself as an excellent songwriter who sees the world through the eyes of his wretched characters. His grubby lyrics about unsuccessful alpha males, losers and sex remind one of Charles Bukowski and are accompanied by cheery ‘80s synth-pop and sensual saxophone.
