Adam Green (The Moldy Peaches) marks the anniversary of his 2nd album
In 2002, The Moldy Peaches played to just 153 people at our Club. Who would have thought back then that this collective would still be providing pungent emanations? Such as: ⅓ of the soundtrack for the highly acclaimed and lauded film ‘Juno’ (2007) being full of songs by Kimya Dawson, founding member of The Moldy Peaches. And this year there is even a full-on reunion planned, one bringing the band to Primavera Sound (Barcelona) and London’s Roundhouse, with a capacity of 3000 (!) people.
Other founding member of The Moldy Peaches, Adam Green, has performed at AB a number of times since 2002 and now returns to celebrate a memorable moment: the 20th anniversary of his album ‘Friends Of Mine’. On that album, Adam Green revealed himself to be a crooner in the style of Frank Sinatra, Scott Walker and Serge Gainsbourg, with a big nod to Jacques Brel even.
‘Friends of Mine’ will be re-released this year by Brussels label Capitane Records. All the more reason to bring a number of labelmates, such as Nicolas Michaux and Solak, along on this evening.
The re-release of ‘Friends of Mine’ will be out on June 9 and can be pre-ordered via this link: www.capitane-records.net/Adam-Green-Friends-of-Mine_pre-order
