#1: Brussels Chassol 3-day with the world premiere as a kick-off @ AB
Inspired by Brussels and its multilingualism and polyphony, Christophe Chassol has created a visually stimulating, acoustic portrait of the city. After the online performance of "Chou" last year, Chassol returns with the live performance of his new album dedicated to Brussels: a hypnotic total experience with video and musicians.
Chassol has revolutionized contemporary jazz and is known around the world through his albums, concerts and collaborations with artists such as Frank Ocean and Solange. Like an optical effect, he harmonizes melodies and rhythms by mixing exceptionally complex variations of chords and acoustic combinations in an unimaginable fluidity. With a seemingly effortless technique, he hides complexity under an unbridled elegance, but also allows the virtuosity, poetry and musicality of everyday sounds and spoken language to emerge. 'Chou' fuses the archive of images and sounds of Brussels into a polyphonic portrait of the city.
This unique creation will be presented in three evenings each in a different symbolic place: Ancienne Belgique, La Monnaie and L'Archiduc.
