Almost 25 years & 10 albums and we're still trying to make sense of Trans Am. Are we trying too hard or is the band just making fun of us to our face? Trans Am comes to present their tenth album 'Volume X'; yet another wild splitting of electro to Krautrock to, yes, trash metal even. Look, make your self a sandwich with peanut butter, chocolate spread and cottage cheese for breakfast. Wash it all down with a glass of orange juice and you'll almost have captured the Trans Am experience.
Go March
Dreamy ‘cosmo rock for a bright future’, as they themselves describe it, in a niche somewhere between rock and electronic music. Comprising musicians who earned their stripes with bands like Arno and Broken Glass Heroes, the composition of the band alone is sufficient to label it 'promising'. Instrumental tracks, perfectly building to a peak, that remind us of Trans Am and Public Service Broadcasting. But then even better, of course! (Surely a little chauvinism is permitted?)
