Tipje van de danssluier opgelicht van "Songs from the Brill Building"
Dit najaar gaan Patrick Riguelle, John Terra en co toeren langs vlaamse wegen met een exquis, plezant en vooral erg dansbaar coverprogramma.
Het repertoire van Songs from the Brill Building bestaat uit bestaat uit songpareltjes uit de fifties & sixties, 'Golden oldies' zeg maar.
Tijdens de ‘Great Depression’ verhuurden de Brill Brothers namelijk hun kleermakersgebouw op Broadway in New York noodgedwongen aan muziekuitgevers. Wat ooit daarvoor behuisd werd door beurslui, werd vanaf de jaren '30 plots dé muziekfabriek die tot ver in zeventiger jaren wereldhits voortbracht waar onze muziekgeschiedenis tot op vandaag nog van nazindert.
De huidige crisis inspireerde daarom de wandelende muzikale encyclopedie, genaamd Patrick Riguelle, om te grasduinen in de rijke songtraditie die giganten als Leiber & Stoller, Neil Diamond, Carole King, Burt Bacharach, Paul Simon, Doc Pomus en zelfs Phil Spector daar toen neerpenden.
