Slayer ziet zich genoodzaakt hun komende Europese tournee uit te stellen. Zanger Tom Araya kampt namelijk met gezondheidsproblemen. De tournee wordt naar het voorjaar van 2010 verplaatst. Dat betekent dat het uitverkochte concert van Slayer, dat plaats zou vinden in de Ancienne Belgique op 15 december verplaatst wordt naar woensdag 17 maart.
De tickets blijven geldig. Wie echter zijn ticket terugbetaald wenst, kan dit tot 15 december in het voorverkooppunt waar het werd aangekocht.
Slayer heeft een nieuw album klaar! 'World Painted Blood' verschijnt op 2 november. En dat heuglijk nieuws wordt gevierd met een toch wel redelijk exclusief concert. Slayer stelt zijn 10de album namelijk voor in de Ancienne Belgique in Brussel op dinsdag 15 december. Oftwel een gegarandeerd groots concert in een -naar Slayer normen- kleine zaal.
Slayer bestaat intussen 25 jaar en is nog steeds de onbetwiste meester van de speed/trash metal. Tom Araya, Jeff Hanneman, Kerry King en Dave Lombardo vormen de ruggegraat van deze gigant. Ontstaan in de buitenwijken van Los Angeles en al snel uitgegroeid tot één van de grootste metalbands ooit, staat Slayer er na albums als 'Seasons In The Abyss' en 'Reign In Blood' – een ware trashmetal klassieker- vandaag nog steeds met hun ongeëvenaarde sound. Snelle riffs gecombineerd met een uitstekend gevoel voor melodie, dat levert enkel vuurwerk op. Fans wachten sinds 'Christ Illusion' uit 2006 op een nieuw studioalbum. Dat wachten wordt nu hard beloond. Volgens insiders is "World Painted Blood" een nieuw meesterwerk. Slayer fans kunnen zich dus beginnen opwarmen want zij hebben afspraak met Slayer en hun nieuwe album op dinsdag 15 december in de AB.
