Fusion tussen piano pop, R&B en jaren ’60-’70 soul-jazz
Sarah Ferri groeide op in een warm Belgisch-Italiaans nest. Gefascineerd door de unieke zangstijl van nachtegalen zoals Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday en Nina Simone, begon ze met het schrijven van eigenzinnige en creatieve songs. Hun donker, sprookjesachtig karakter werd gaandeweg beïnvloed door de naakte eerlijkheid van de seventies folk en zonnige gipsy jazz swing uit de fifties.
Sarah verscheen voor het eerst op de radar toen ze in 2008 tijdens de Gentse Feesten de muziekwedstrijd Jonge Wolven won. Tijdens een concert in “The Music Village” werd Sarah Ferri opgemerkt door de Anciënne Belgique en opgenomen in het project Artist in Residence.
Sarah speelde ondermeer supports voor Michael Kiwanuka, Caro Emerald, Simply Red, Jools Holland & His Rhythm & Blues Orchestra.
In 2012 verscheen haar debuut 'Ferritales' bij Universal Music. Het album werd geproducet door Koen Gisen en gemasterd door Tim Young in Metropolis Studio Londen.
