Ex-Late of the Pier-lid debuteert met weirde pop op Domino

Het regent sterren in menig vakblad sinds Sam Dust, die we nog kennen van het ter ziele gegane Late of the Pier en als tourgitarist van Connan Mockasin, zijn spaced out duivels ontbindt als LA Priest. Duivels in de vorm van psychedelische pastiche-pop en soulvolle electro, die soms de gedaante van David Bowie en Prince lijken aan te nemen.
Zijn welgesmaakte eersteling ‘Inji’ (uit op Domino sinds 30/06), die volgens Humo overloopt van “Midden-Oosterse digidub, cockrockgitaarsolo’s en flatulente baspartijen”, bracht Dust deze zomer naar Dour waar hij de verzamelde flipkonijnen in La Petite Maison Dans La Prairie volgens Cutting Edge trakteerde op “psychedelische space tunes die na afloop alleszins nog een hele poos door de oren bleven bliepen.”
Éen van de weirdste, maar daarmee ook meest spannende nieuwkomers dit jaar!
