'Self Machine' is die onweerstaanbare single van dit prille Britse talent. I Blame Coco, zo noemt de zangeres haar project, voluit heet ze Eliot 'Coco' Paulina Sumner, net twintig en yep, dochter van Sting, maar ze klinkt anders: jonger, zotter, meer 'monolithic, ethereal & robust.' W ant Coco ging voor 'The Constant', haar debuut bij Universal, vooral in zee met de Zweedse Robyn, altijd garant voor een stuwend en net retro genoeg geluid.
Coco mag dan al graag omgaan met Ian Brown, Pete Doherty, Alex Turner of zot zijn van The Killers, ze dweept duidelijk ook met eighties ikonen als Duran Duran en Psychedelic Furs. Ze maakt echter wel eigenwijs haar eigen hitparade - en podium materiaal: sinds haar vijftiende moet ze met de nummers van The Constant bezig zijn, maar pas recent werd hiervoor afgeweken van reggae - of ska klanken (à la papa?) Met dank aan Robyn dus (en I Blame Coco trouwens best ook schrijven met zo'n ° op de a van blame.)
Het gaat ineens snel voor schone Coco: eind november al in de club!
Het veelbelovende voorprogramma wordt Few Bits.
Few Bits is de band rond singer-songwriter Karolien Van Ransbeeck en ontstond in 2008 met muzikanten Tim Coenen, Vincent Wilms, Peter Pask en Steven Holsbeeks. De songs worden gebracht met overtuiging, het geheel klinkt sferisch, soms ingetogen en intiem maar barst geregeld uit zijn voegen. Live staat de band stevig in zijn schoenen. Het vijftal neemt momenteel (winter 2010) hun debuutplaat op.
Karolien is te horen als gast op de nieuwe plaat van Admiral Freebee 'The honey & the knife' en verzorgde het voorprogramma van zijn Belgische zaaltournee.
Ook op de nieuwe plaat van The Go Find 'Everybody knows it's gonna happen only not tonight' is Karolien te horen als gastmuzikante.
