De vierkoppige Britse metalformatie Bullet For My Valentine heeft met hun nieuwe studio album ‘Fever’ een mokerslag klaar. Daarop vormen de dubbele gitaarlijnen eigen aan bijvoorbeeld Iron Maiden opnieuw de basis voor hun neo-classic metal. Net als hun debuut 'The Poison' en opvolger ‘Scream Aim Fire’ is ‘Fever’ een opwindende verzameling snoeiharde riffs, spannende gitaarsolo's en lekker meezingbare refreinen.
Als special guest neemt BFMV hun eveneens uit Wales afkomstige vrienden van Funeral For A Friend mee. Reeds 4 albums op hun actief, vertoeft de band momenteel in de studio voor een nieuw album dat nog dit jaar het licht moet zien. De vijfkoppige band citeert post-hardcore en screamo acts zoals Deftones en The Get Up Kids als voornaamste voorbeelden.
Er is nu toch een vervanger gevonden voor Escape The Fate op de Bullet For My Valentine tournee. Het Britse Rise To Remain zal de avond openen. Dit vijftal uit Londen heeft sinds 2008 zijn strepen in het live circuit verdiend dankzij tournees met Trivium en Shadows Fall en festivals als Download, Sonisphere en Graspop 2010. Zelf omschrijven ze zich als melodische metal met elementen van trash en rock. En wie goed heeft opgelet herkent in zanger Austin Dickinson uiteraard de zoon van Iron Maiden zanger Bruce Dickinson.
