Un folk subtil aux accents finnois ! On pourrait les comparer à Laïs mais Värttinä était là bien avant et existe encore, en dépit d'une longue pause récente. L'ensemble nous propose une musique polyphonique et passionnante. Et si les chants sont incompréhensibles, ils n'en sont que plus beaux et plus captivants. Certains y voient des influences caréliennes ou ougriennes. Värttinä est apparu, pour la première fois, à Dranouter en 1992 et son dernier passage à l'AB remonte à 2006 (à l'époque de son dixième album 'Miero'.) Une compilation a depuis vu le jour pour célébrer les 25 ans du groupe et de nouveaux enregistrements sont prévus pour la fin de l'année. La découverte sur scène de ce nouveau matériel s'annonce prometteuse, en cette belle soirée d'hiver. Ici transe et tradition se marient harmonieusement et des influences plus contemporaines se mêlent, de manière organique, aux escapades vocales. Ce concert s'inscrit dans le cadre d'Arctic Accents.
Arctic Accents a pour but de lancer la musique finlandaise au Benelux.
Arctic Accents - Sons de Finlande 2011 - se déroulera durant cet automne au Benelux. Ce projet veut promouvoir toutes les musiques finlandaises en Belgique, aux Pays-Bas et au Luxembourg. Afin de promouvoir les artistes et leurs projets un site web www.arcticaccents.fi sera accessible en plus de Facebook et Twitter et d'autres moyens de communication. Le projet est organisé par Fimic, le centre finlandais d'informations musicales en collaboration avec l'Institut Culturel finlandais pour le Benelux et les ambassades finlandaises. Les partenaires principaux seront l' Ancienne Belgqiue et le Vooruit en Belgique, le Melkweg aux Pays-Bas et le Rockhal au Luxembourg. En outre une série d'événements seront consacrés à la musique du compositeur Kaija Saariaho.
