Tame Impala, Ariel Pink, Foxygen, Jacco Gardner, ... Impossible d'Ă©chapper, semble-t-il, Ă la remarquable vague psychĂ©dĂ©lique qui dĂ©ferle sur le paysage indie pop. Si lâesprit est volontiers sixties, les sonoritĂ©s, elles, sont actuelles. Originaire de Nouvelle-ZĂ©lande mais installĂ© aux Ătats-Unis, Unknown Mortal Orchestra rentre parfaitement dans le moule.
Avec leur deuxiĂšme opus, simplement intitulĂ© « II », ils nous avaient offert une psychsoul shootĂ©e au LSD et dĂ©licieusement dĂ©glinguĂ©e. Un psychĂ©dĂ©lisme lo fi semblant tout droit sorti des sixties et fleurant bon les Beatles et Pink Floyd. Conquis, Grizzly Bear et Liars les avaient emmenĂ©s en tournĂ©e et le Humo en avait fait l'Ă©loge dans une chronique *** Âœ . Le groupe s'Ă©tait dĂ©jĂ imposĂ© dans un AB Club sold out en 2013 et on attend aujourd'hui avec impatience la sortie du troisiĂšme album.
