Une double affiche qui fait clairement dans le DIY* bruyant, avec deux jeunes groupes originaires de LA ayant su créer, chacun à sa façon, un univers tout à fait singulier.
Les quatre Californiens dâAbe Vigoda ont sorti derniĂšrement, sur Bella Union, un premier LP intitulĂ© 'Skeleton', distribuĂ© chez nous par V2. Si lâon en croit le quatuor, leur background est fait « de no wave, de pop, de noirceur et dâespoir » et ils disent baser leur approche musicale sur « lâinstantanĂ©itĂ© ». En termes de rĂ©fĂ©rences, on pense immĂ©diatement Ă Captain Beefheart, My Bloody Valentine ou encore au reggaeton.
The Mae Shi a sorti rĂ©cemment un premier album sur le label Moshi Moshi (Ă©galement distribuĂ© par V2). Le CD s'intitule - attention Ă la prononciation -'HLLLYH'. L'annĂ©e derniĂšre, le groupe Ă©tait encore au festival Oya en NorvĂšge et notre Viking dĂ©pĂȘchĂ© sur place s'Ă©tait Ă©criĂ© Ă la fin du concert : « J'ai Ă©tĂ© complĂštement emballĂ© par THE MAE SHI. Ca se prononce comme 'de meisje' et retenez ceci : ils sont incroyablement drĂŽles, leur plaisir sur scĂšne est Ă©vident, pensez Ă du Cold War Kids entrecoupĂ© dâhumour. Ce quatuor amĂ©ricain prend encore des risques en live et sa folie exubĂ©rante fait que câest toujours passionnant. »

Une nouvelle premiĂšre partie vient s'ajouter Ă cette double affiche qui Ă©tait dĂ©jĂ formidable en soi. Il s'agit dâAnathallo. Ces AmĂ©ricains ont dĂ©butĂ© dans le milieu indie alt pop de Chicago et les voici avec un trĂšs bel album, tout en atmosphĂšre, intitulĂ© 'Canopy Glow'. Anathallo pourrait ĂȘtre le chaĂźnon manquant entre Tortoise et Fleet Foxes. Rien de trĂšs punk donc, mais le rĂ©sultat est assurĂ©ment brillant !
