De la Brit pop / wave opérant à la croisée de la mélodie et du feedback.
âSkyingâ, le nouvel album de The Horrors, sort dans les bacs ce 11 juillet. Avec ce dernier, le combo britannique opte pour un son volontairement fastueux. Dans une rĂ©cente interview, le frontman Faris Badwan notait qu'il s'agissait de âeasily the most melodic record weâve ever madeâ. âSkyingâ est addictif et sera sans nul doute, cet Ă©tĂ©, le compagnon idĂ©al pour les longs voyages de nuit en voiture. Ce troisiĂšme album a Ă©tĂ© enregistrĂ© dans leur propre studio Ă Londres et ce, sans la moindre aide extĂ©rieure. Chapeau bas donc Ă Badwan et ses quatre acolytes.
AprĂšs âPrimary Coloursâ qui avait Ă©tĂ© trĂšs bien accueilli Ă sa sortie en 2009, les choses n'ont Ă©tĂ© qu'en s'amĂ©liorant pour le groupe. Pour la production de l'album, ils avaient notamment fait appel Ă Geoff Barrow de Portishead et au rĂ©alisateur Chris Cunnigham, avec pour rĂ©sultat un son qui faisait fortement rĂ©fĂ©rence Ă des groupes comme Joy Division et Suicide (dont ils ont d'ailleurs sorti le âShadazzâ en single).
On a encore pu voir Faris Badwan rĂ©cemment Ă l'oeuvre Ă l'ABClub, lors du brillant concert de son projet parallĂšle Catâs Eyes.
Cerebral Ballzy est un groupe punk hardcore de Brooklyn qui a longuement Ă©coutĂ© les groupes punk des annĂ©es 80 comme Minor Threat, Bad Brains et Black Flag. Rien de nouveau sous le soleil mais un premier album qui, en moins de 20 minutes, livre 12 titres extrĂȘmement jouissifs.
