Entre Springsteen et les Ramones, une découverte !
CrĂ©Ă© en 2005, il ne leur aura fallu que deux ans et demi pour se retrouver parmi les groupes les plus populaires de la scĂšne rock indie aux States ! Et ce depuis la sortie de leur deuxiĂšme disque intitulĂ© « The â59 Sound ». Cet album, truffĂ© de petites bombes rĂ©tro-modernistes, faisait suite Ă un EP, « Senor & The Queen » et Ă un premier album remarquable, « Sink Or Swim » oĂč Brian Fallon (voix et guitare), Alex Levine (basse), Benny Horowitz (batterie) et Alex Rosamilia (guitare) mĂȘlaient dĂ©jĂ leurs racines punk Ă des influences rock, blues ou folk, sorte de rencontre improbable entre les Ramones et Bruce Springsteen, Otis Redding ou Tom Petty.
Le succĂšs de « The â59 Soundâ les aident Ă sortir en 2010 leur troisiĂšme rĂ©alisation « American Slang » dans les meilleures conditions et Ă asseoir ainsi leur rĂ©putation auprĂšs de la critique et du grand public. Avec Ă la clĂ© la mĂȘme annĂ©e, une AB complĂšte et un spot Ă lâaffiche de Rock Werchter. Et lâannĂ©e suivante un retour remarquĂ© sur la grande scĂšne de Werchter!
Aujourdâhui, le quatuor annonce une prochaine tournĂ©e europĂ©enne et un nouvel album intitulĂ© « Handwritten ». Onze titres puissants portĂ©s par le single « 45 » et produits par Brendan OâBrian, connu pour son travail avec Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam ou Incubus. AprĂšs un set trĂšs attendu au Pukkelpop cet Ă©tĂ©, le quatuor confirme son retour sur la scĂšne de lâAncienne Belgique le 21 octobre prochain. Avec en premiĂšre partie le duo anglais Blood Red Shoes dont le nouvel album âIn Time To Voicesâ ne manque pas de panache !
