Le huitiĂšme opus des Dandy Warhols, les rockeurs de Portland en OrĂ©gon, paraĂźtra en avril. IntitulĂ© âThis Machineâ, l'album a Ă©tĂ© mixĂ© par Tchad Blake (cf. les deux rĂ©cents chefs-dâĆuvre de The Black Keys). Sur ce dernier, on entendra notamment une collaboration entre le frontman des Warhols Courtney Taylor-Taylor et David J, le bassiste de Bauhaus et Love And Rockets. Ceux qui ont dĂ©jĂ eu l'occasion d'Ă©couter âThis Machineâ parlent de leur meilleur album depuis âThirteen Tales From Urban Bohemiaâ.
Les Dandy Warhols sont actifs depuis prĂšs de 18 ans, une carriĂšre qui a bien Ă©videmment Ă©tĂ© Ă©maillĂ©e par pas mal de hauts et de bas. Le quatuor a notamment connu le succĂšs, au tournant du siĂšcle, avec des singles comme âNot If You Were The Last Junkie On Earthâ et âBohemian Like Youâ. Avec le LP âWelcome To The Monkey Houseâ sorti en 2003, un grand nombre de fans ont toutefois dĂ©sertĂ© le groupe. Ce rejet est essentiellement dĂ» Ă l'ajout de nombreuses nappes de synthĂ©tiseurs Ă l'Ă©poque, une consĂ©quence de leur collaboration avec Nick Rhodes de Duran Duran Ă la production. Mais avec âOdditorium Or Warlords Of Marsâ en 2005 et â... Earth To The Dandy Warholsâ en 2008, le groupe s'est Ă nouveau montrĂ© en trĂšs grande forme.
La premiĂšre partie sera assurĂ©e par le duo britannique AK/DK qui combine Ă©lectronica, batterie furibonde et une sacrĂ©e dose d'Ă©nergie malsaine. Cela leur a valu d'ĂȘtre comparĂ©s Ă Battles, Death From Above 1979 et Neu.
