Les Breeders rejouent l'intégralité de leur grand classique
C'est l'un des faits les plus mĂ©morables de l'histoire de l'indie pop / rock. En 1993, les Breeders emmenĂ©s par Kim Deal sortaient âLast Splashâ. 1993, c'est aussi l'annĂ©e oĂč les Pixies, dans lesquels Kim Deal officiait en tant que bassiste, jetĂšrent l'Ă©ponge â eux qui s'Ă©taient Ă©clatĂ©s avec des albums tels que âSurferâ Rosaâ, âDoolittleâ, âBossanovaâ et âTrompe Le Mondeâ.
Les enregistrements de âLast Splashâ, deuxiĂšme album des Breeders, rĂ©unirent bien vite trois singles Ă©patants : l'inoubliable âCannonballâ (qui fut Ă©lu, la mĂȘme annĂ©e, âSingle of the Yearâ par le NME), âDivine Hammerâ et âSaintsâ. âLast Splashâ devint disque de platine aux Ătats-Unis et il figure au top 100 des albums les plus marquants des annĂ©es 90 Ă©tabli par Pitchfork.
L'an dernier, Kim Deal dĂ©cida, sur un coup de tĂȘte, d'envoyer un SMS aux anciens membres des Breeders : "Should we get together to play âLast Splashâ for its twentieth anniversary?" L'enthousiasme fut gĂ©nĂ©ral et les choses s'organisĂšrent.
